The Columbus Board of Education is launching an online survey to hear from students and families, teachers and staff, dedicated partners and service providers, and the community as a whole on what characteristics and skills they would like to see in the District’s next superintendent.
The New Superintendent Survey can be accessed online HERE.
“As a Board, we have pledged to have a public-engaged approach that will help us best identify and measure the essential qualities this community needs in a new superintendent,” said Board President Gary L Baker, II. “The community’s answers to this survey are an initial step in our thorough and thoughtful process to find the best candidate to serve the unique needs of our growing District.”
Current Superintendent/CEO Dr. Dan Good announced in August that he would be retiring at the end of December.
The Board has hired a national search firm - Hazard, Young, Attea & Associates - to assist in the candidate process. The search is already underway, with the firm posting the job opening on its website and in national publications. Click here to view the application.
The New Superintendent Survey takes only a few minutes to complete. Responders are reminded that a long list of characteristics are desirable in the District’s next leader; the Board is interested in hearing which characteristics are "most important" for Columbus City Schools.
In addition to the survey, the Board will hold several community meetings in late October. The New Superintendent Survey closes on October 30.
